Dr. Wojciech Bystry
DVM
Dr. Bystry graduated from Agricultural and Technical Academy of Veterinary Medicine ART in Olsztyn, Poland in 1985. He practiced large animal medicine before moving to the United States. After completing his veterinary board exams, he worked in several small animal hospitals on Long Island. Dr. Bystry joined VCA in 2002 as Medical Director of Sunrise Vet Group. He enjoys cooking, gardening, but his true passion is tennis. Dr. Bystry lives in Islip with his wife, Katarzyna, and two children, Daria and Rafal.
Dr. Barbara Thode
DVM
Dr. Thode received her bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Georgia and her veterinary degree from Cornell University. She has practiced at Sunrise Vet Group for the last 7 years. Dr. Thode has been a volunteer at the Bronx Zoo for 26 years. Her special intertest is in reptiles, small mammals, and exotics. She lives with 2 dogs, 5 cats, 4 birds, 9 lizards, 3 turtles, 3 snakes, 1 frog, and 3 fish.
